Head Start students at Napoleonville Primary School are learning important science concepts about our world with the help of balls in their lessons. They learned how Earth and other planets in our solar system orbit around a larger, more powerful sun.

 

Assumption Parish Schools Announce Top Teachers and Principal of the Year

Assumption Parish Schools recently announced this year’s Teacher of the Year and Principal of the Year winners. Superintendent Dr. John Barthelemy visited the top winners, presenting each with a bouquet of colorful flowers.

Ali Gautreaux, principal of Labadieville Primary School, is the district’s Principal of the Year winner. Tracey Bimah of Napoleonville Primary School is the Elementary Teacher of the Year, Emma Prejean of Belle Rose Middle School is the Middle School Teacher of the Year, and Paula Daigle of Assumption High School is the High School Teacher of the Year. 

Each of the district winners will advance to the regional competition to vie for the opportunity to be a finalist for Louisiana’s top award.

Those teachers in the district who were nominated by their schools for this year’s top award are Heather Bond, Bayou L’Ourse Primary; Meredity Parker, Belle Rose Primary; Hanna Landry, Labadieville Primary; Ginger Breaux, Pierre Part Elementary; Mikalyn Hue, Labadieville Middle; Brittney Leblanc, Napoleonville Middle; Donna Arabie, Pierre Part Elementary; and Angele Sons, Assumption High.

 

District Offering Bus Driver Training Next Year

Persons interested in driving a school bus can sign up for a CDL Training class to be taught by the district next year.

Two classes will be offered in January – one from Jan. 22-25, 2024, and the other from Jan. 29-30, 2024.  Two classes are also offered in May – May 6-9, 2024, and May 13-14, 2024.
